Welcome to AssistCover. By downloading, signing up for, or using the AssistCover app (the “Application”),
you agree to the following Terms & Conditions (“Terms”). Please read them carefully.

1. About AssistCover

AssistCover is a digital-first platform that connects you to the nearest vetted private or public emergency
responders (security, medical, or roadside) through your mobile device or connected panic button.
When you press SOS, our system alerts available responders in your area and dispatches help to your location.
We provide access to this service but do not directly employ the responders — they operate as independent
service providers.

2. Using the Application

  • You must register an account using your mobile number and verify with a One-Time Pin (OTP).
  • By registering, you consent to us using your mobile number and location to deliver emergency services.
  • You are responsible for keeping your account details accurate and up to date.
  • Do not use the app for unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, or harmful activities.

3. Subscription & Fees

  • AssistCover offers different subscription plans (Individual, Couple, Family). Your plan determines the level of services available to you.
  • Subscription fees are payable via the Application or through your insurer if access is provided as part of your policy.
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time in the Application. Cancellation takes effect within 30 days.

4. Service Coverage

  • Emergency response is available only within coverage areas where partnered responders operate. Coverage may change over time.
  • Response times are not guaranteed and may vary based on location, responder availability, and network conditions.
  • In out-of-coverage areas, we will attempt to connect you with the nearest public or private services, but response may be delayed.

5. Fair Usage Policy

Each subscription includes a fair number of emergency responses per year. Excessive or repeated non-genuine
activations may result in additional fees or suspension of service.

6. Devices & Panic Buttons

  • If you use a physical panic button, it must be linked to your profile in the Application.
  • Device performance depends on network connectivity, battery life, and environment (for example, underground areas may block signals).
  • Device support or warranty claims should be taken up directly with the device manufacturer.

7. Personal Information & Privacy

  • We collect and process your personal information (including location, medical details, and emergency contacts) in line with applicable data protection laws (such as POPIA).
  • Your data is used only to provide emergency services, improve service quality, and for security and support purposes.
  • By adding family members or emergency contacts, you confirm you have their consent to share their details.

8. System Availability

We strive to keep the Application running smoothly, but service may be interrupted by connectivity issues,
technical failures, maintenance, or third-party outages. Uninterrupted availability cannot be guaranteed.

9. Limitation of Liability

  • AssistCover provides access to responders but is not responsible for the acts or omissions of those responders.
  • We are not liable for delays in response, unavailability of responders, or outcomes of emergency incidents.
  • Your use of the Application is at your own risk.
  • To the maximum extent allowed by law, our total liability is limited to R10,000 (or equivalent in your currency).

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, misuse the service, or engage in fraudulent activity.
You may close your account at any time using the Application.

11. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of South Africa. Any dispute should first be addressed through good-faith negotiation.
If unresolved, disputes may be referred to arbitration in Johannesburg, conducted in English.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted in the Application. Your continued use of the
Application after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
